GENTLEMEN, START YOUR ENGINES!! Pinewood Derby is coming up on January 28, 2012. We will begin Check-in/Weigh-in at 12:45PM and racing will begin at 1:20PM. No cars will be checked in after 1:15PM when the opening ceremonies start. We are still looking for volunteers to help as members of the Pinewood Derby Committee. We will need help for track and event setup the day before the event and help with check in and inspection the day of and clean up afterwards. We will also need help organizing parents to bring food for the post race party. If you can help, please contact your leader and get involved. Attached to this announcement is the official Pack 79 pinewood derby rule. There will be a Pinewood Derby Workshop the morning of Saturday, January 14th. Please see the workshop announcement for details on that event. Let’s make this the best Pack 79 Pinewood Derby ever!!

"A Scout is reverent." All Scouts show this by being faithful in their duty to God. Some go further and give special service. This can qualify them for a religious emblem. Pack 79 will be offering this program to all boys that are interested. The dates have been changed to January 30 and 31 and February 2 and 3 (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri). Tiger Cubs through Bears will go through the "God and Me" program. The "God and Me"curriculum is designed to help children become best friends with Jesus and tell their story of “God and Me” together. Webelos 1 and 2 will go through the "God and Family" program. The God and Family curriculum is designed to help youth understand the importance of family and God’s role in a healthy family. To learn more about this class click on the following link to P.R.A.Y. If you are interested in enrolling your son in this class to receive this award please let your Den Leaders know at the next den meeting or register online in the "Event Registration" section or email the Cubmaster.  

We are implementing a new service on the Pack 79 Home Page that will make it easier for you to pay for activities and events your son participates in. In the Menu section of the Pack 79 web site you will find a section labeled "Online Payments." From here you can conveniently pay fees involved with Pack/Den Campouts, Pack Dues, Membership Fees or place orders for Pack T-Shirts. These payments are made securely and safely through PayPal. Thanks for your support of Pack 79.

We will be taking orders for Pack 79 T-Shirts through March 1. These pack t-shirts will be worn by our scouts to council events so our boys will stand out from scouts in other units. They will also be worn to field events and outside activities when the regular Class A uniform is not worn. The t-shirts will be safety green color and screen printed with the logo above. The cost will be $10.00 per shirt for regular sizes and $12.00 for XX-Large shirts .
